Our Story
Our history originated in 1995 in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. John Jno-Finn, a young ambitious man, left his promising political career behind to pursue the calling of the Lord. Dr. Jno-Finn accepted the Lord at the age of 22, he struggled with the desires to further his political career versus the pressures to heed the call of the Lord and shepherd his own flock. So, on a whim and prayer he moved with his wife Judith and kids and immigrated to America. John and his family settled in Nashville, Tennessee where he sought to obtain and finish his degree in Theology and Education. It was a complete cultural shock for him and his family. Dr. Jno- Finn tried to further his education worked numerous jobs to make ends meet. The pressures of a growing family, financial struggles and fulfilling God’s promise took its toll on him and his family. He struggled daily with desires to move back to his home country, Dominica. Through it all, God fulfilled His promise to “never leave us nor forsake us.”
Dr. Jno-Finn connected with Nashville native Murless (Liz) Allen to lay the groundwork of what would become Faith, Hope and Love Fellowship. Why Faith, Hope and Love Fellowship? That’s a unique story. Dr. Jno-Finn, Judith Jno-Finn, Liz Allen, and Desi Smith sought the Lord in prayer. With the leading of the Holy Spirit, God gave Dr. Finn and Liz Allen the same scripture - 1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abideth Faith, Hope & Love these three; but the greatest of these is love.” Thus came the name – Faith, Hope & Love Fellowship.
Our initial service was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Jno-Finn on Sunday, March 3, 1996, in Nashville, Tennessee. The first sermon was appropriately titled “I Belong to God.” The church has subsequently moved numerous times since that first service. It was part of God’s greater plan for our church. The church in 2001 was ultimately able to settle on 25 acres of land which we plan to build the future edifice including: church building, daycare, school, community center, and homes for senior citizens, etc.
After 27 years of pastoring Faith, Hope, and Love Fellowship, Pastor Jno- Finn has accepted the call into the Apostolic anointing. In this position, he will continue to be the apostolic covering for Faith, Hope and Love Fellowship in Nashville, Tennessee, and current ministries in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Dominica, and several churches in Kenya, Africa.
Through the Lord’s leading, Dr. Jno-Finn’s biological daughter, Reverend Jasmine Jno-Baptiste and her husband Elder Samuel Jno-Baptiste will take on the pastoral functions at Faith, Hope and Love Fellowship in Nashville, Tennessee.
To God we give all the glory for our accomplishments!
